Cardboard & fabric houses

I have been making a few cardboard houses for a little Christmas village. I always loved the miniature festive villages, but buying enough of them to make a display can cost a fortune.

These houses are made with cardboard boxes, scrap fabric and some Christmas ribbon, buttons and ornaments. Cut the walls of the houses with a proper scalpel. Cut the windows as well. Then glue the fabric to the cardboard and stick the house together. Use a glue gun to make sure it doesn’t take forever. Decorate the windows and roof with different fabric and ornaments. Add lights inside ( I used electric candles).

This can turn into an architecture learning project for kids with explanation on the walls and roofing as well as a lesson on shapes.
