Coloured pasta butterflies or bows
Using this technique dye your pasta and dry it. Then with acrylic pens paint different butterflies. Teach the kids the different types and characteristics when painting them. My little one really likes the Monarch.

Spray paint impressions
Get some spray bottles and fill them with water and paint or food colouring. Get leaves, plastic objects, cookie cutters or anything flat that you don’t mind coloring. Place them on some bloating paper or kitchen towels and spray from a distance. You will get negative impressions on your paper.

Chinese paper dragon
Sophie’s homework was to build a paper dragon so here’s her end result. Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Not my temple, but it seems to be everywhere on the internet so I presume it’s free to use. For other options just search for paper dragon puppet or colour and cut dragon.

Milk bottle snowmen
Similar to the Halloween lanterns you can make snowmen and add funny hats or ear mufs and orange felt noses. Use a glue gun and quality paints to beat the rain and snow or use a spray to seal your work. Cut the bottle at the back to add lights.

Snowman wooden sign
Find an old wooden plank and paint a snowman with acrylics. Use it for your outdoor decor. You could add some wording if you have space (welcome or let it snow). Seal it with some waterproof glossy spray.
