Coloured pasta butterflies or bows
Using this technique dye your pasta and dry it. Then with acrylic pens paint different butterflies. Teach the kids the different types and characteristics when painting them. My little one really likes the Monarch.
Spray paint impressions
Get some spray bottles and fill them with water and paint or food colouring. Get leaves, plastic objects, cookie cutters or anything flat that you don’t mind coloring. Place them on some bloating paper or kitchen towels and spray from a distance. You will get negative impressions on your paper.
Painting on snow
We are trying to make the most of the snow indoors and outdoors as it’s unlikely to have it for long. Here’s an indoor idea with snow. Bring some snow in a plastic box and dilute some paints with water (or use food colouring). Painting works better on snow balls. Don’t forget to put a […]
Chinese paper dragon
Sophie’s homework was to build a paper dragon so here’s her end result. Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Not my temple, but it seems to be everywhere on the internet so I presume it’s free to use. For other options just search for paper dragon puppet or colour and cut dragon.
Milk bottle snowmen
Similar to the Halloween lanterns you can make snowmen and add funny hats or ear mufs and orange felt noses. Use a glue gun and quality paints to beat the rain and snow or use a spray to seal your work. Cut the bottle at the back to add lights.
Snowman wooden sign
Find an old wooden plank and paint a snowman with acrylics. Use it for your outdoor decor. You could add some wording if you have space (welcome or let it snow). Seal it with some waterproof glossy spray.
Happy Halloween sign
Nothing special about this one either. Done with the help of my 5 year old with paints and acrylic pens on a wood plaque and finished off with glossy spray for water resistance.
Wood planks Halloween Decorations
Transform some wood planks by painting ghosts or Frankenstain faces on them or wrap white fabric and and add some eyes to make zombies.
Witch castle wood plaque
Find a plaque of wood or a big piece of plywood. Get your acrylic paints and get creative. Plenty of ideas online if you can’t come up with something. Look for “Halloween castle silhouette”. These are easier to paint than detailed castles. Optional – When dried finish off with a coat of gloss spray for […]
Milk bottle Halloween ghosts
Transform your used milk bottles into ghosts and add electric tea candles/ glow sticks to light them up. If the candle is too large to fit in, cut a hole at the back. You can add stones to weight them down or use th indoor with fairy lights instead of electric candles. This is a […]
