You need a big tarpaulin sheet, a water hose and one or more kids in swimming costumes. Just lie down the sheet on a flat surface (grass to avoid accidents) if you want puddles, or downhill if you want a slide and sprinkle water on it. If you have a slide you might need to leave the hose open to have continuous water on it in order for kids to slide.

We only had a falt surface in our garden so the sliding bit had to be aided. But aside from sliding kids will love jumping in water, swimming, ice-skating, and all sorts.

Great activity for a hot day. This may get very interesting if you have a dog as well.
